70's Flare

70's Flare

Feeling a bit bored of your wardrobe? This post is for you. I have experienced many moments staring at my closet feeling discouraged and frustrated. I have found that one of the best ways to add something different to your style and wardrobe selection is by looking toward influential fashion eras. I often look to the 70's for inspiration, though being born in the 90's I didn't have the chance to experience the decade, but from the unique and self-expressive styles I can only imagine it was fun! Style in the 70's included vibrant boho chic influences with bell sleeve tops, pops of color, floral prints, and flares. I've noticed the 70's trend is making a comeback this season with the appearance of flared denim, knee high boots, and bell sleeves.

In this post, I channeled the 70's decade with a modern flare wearing a Lovestitch bell sleeve top, bralette, Blanknyc flare jeans, and Steve Madden luggage brown wedges. I think this is a great look to wear for Sunday brunch with the girls or even going out for drinks with friends! The style is casual, yet sets you apart from the modern day trends with the use of different fabrics, prints, and the addition of accessories.

These have been great core pieces in my wardrobe when I'm feeling like I need a change. The flare jeans also style well with other tops including a tucked in button down for a more conservative look, or a sleeveless turtleneck sweater and pointed toe booties for a fall day. The top I'm wearing has a pretty low neckline - here I added a cute bralette. To prevent the exposure add a snap to the top for cheap at your local alteration shop.

Have fun channeling the 70's and embracing the flare!
